Reset your Internet connection, modem and router the easy way

Every so often your internet connection will stop or seem to be stuck. Before you call tech support and remain on hold, try this.

Sometimes the easiest and fastest fix for slow connections is to reset the modem and router.  This is as simple as unplugging their power cords and waiting a few seconds, then plugging them back in.

But most of us have the equipment in another room, on top of a high shelf and just generally it is difficult to reach the cords.

An easy way is to buy a separate power strip for your modem and router with the power switch easily accessible. This way you just have to flip the switch, wait 5 seconds, then flip it back on. This usually solves 90% of most connection problems and if you have ever been on hold with your Internet tech support, you know thats what they always suggest to do.
